Who are we? Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future. Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent. We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
Your leadership will make a difference. At Volvo Cars, we are always looking for world-class leaders who bring out the best in our people. If you want to be part of our exciting mission to change the automotive experience and make people’s lives less complicated, by leading and inspiring your team to success – then we have a job for you. What’s in it for you?
We have a significant shift in the way we will operate Customs & Export Controls which requires taking our tools of execution to a new level. The ambition is clear – we will automate all transactional processes and attain full visibility and control over our global activities. You will spearhead the transformation from the business side owning the journey forward.
What you’ll do
As Senior Manager Tools you will take the leadership role in a newly formed global team “Customs Tools” consisting of around 5 experienced customs professionals. Together with your team you will be driving the development of the tools and solutions Customs & Exports needs to have developed in order to realize the ambitions on automation of our transactional processes and control over our global activity. A big part of your team’s role will be to understand the possibilities that are available in the market and how we can integrate them into our delivery. The team also needs to ensure that we are realizing the full potential out of the tools the department already use (MIC Customs and connected ERP systems). The team will own the interface and ways of working between Customs & Export Controls (business) and the Digital (IT) organization and will be responsible to secure that our tool requests receive the necessary priority within the agile process. Success in this role will be measured by the ability for the team to successfully deliver tool solutions which are aligned to our strategy ambitions while being fully embraced by the teams in Customs & Export Controls to affect their work.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a person who have several years of experience in international trade advisory either in consultancy or in business and have a track record in using digital technology to affect the efficient execution of the Customs & Export Controls process. You have an experienced manager background of skilled individual contributors, experts and have a strong voice in the settings you operate in. You encourage those around you and build an environment which fosters innovation. You know how to translate ideas into concrete plans, and you bring your team on the journey by setting the perquisites for successful deliveries. You are proactive and don’t wait for others to show you how to, what to or when to do something. Importantly, you take the driver’s seat and make things move. As a person you are the one who listens at least as much as you talk. When you do talk, you talk with intent. You follow through on your ideas and your commitments. People around you see you as trustworthy, dependable and a collaborator. How to learn more and apply We want your application at the latest October 28 2021.
