Candela’s ultimate purpose is to speed up the transition to fossil fuel-free lakes and oceans. We strive to re-think efficiency in marine transportation to radically push the performance boundaries of electric boats and ships.
By combining sensors, computers and advanced submerged hydrofoils, our electric craft fly above the water, reaching speeds and range previously attained only by fossil fuel powerboats.
After launching Candela C-7, Europe’s currently best-selling electric boat, we launched Candela C-8 in August 2021, the first electric boat intended for high volume production. We are also venturing into public transport with the revolutionary foiling P-30 ferry, built for the city of Stockholm.
We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - Product Owner to support Candela’s growth ambitions.
Core responsibilities
In this role, you will be the key technical responsible for the manufacturing flows and quality assurance of a product or product family. In close collaboration with R&D, production engineers and specialists, you will define, build, and continuously develop the flows, processes, and methods used for manufacturing the world’s greatest boats. You know your product inside out and continuous improvement is your game.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main technical responsible and project manager for the introduction of products on either new or existing production flows - Development of production lines/flows for efficient high-quality production - Coordination of PPAP work - Consulting R&D on design for manufacturability topics - Defining and setting up Quality Assurance procedures for a product family - Leading non-conformity/deviation handling together with production and R&D - General coordination and prioritization of continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts within a product family - Production tooling (moulds) and capacity planning based on strategic growth plans
Your profile
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent - You have proven experience and excellent technical and analytical skills in product design and manufacturing engineering - Proven experience in product introductions and design of production flows/lines, preferably for composite parts or boats - You are highly skilled in analyzing complex problems and systematically solving them in collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing Engineers and production personnel - You feel comfortable in managing projects with aggressive deadlines and leading small project teams - You are good at learning new things and dare to take up challenges and tackle difficult problems - You are a skilled listener and communicator - You are good at gathering, structuring and presenting information both verbally and in writing - You feel comfortable using common CAD-tools, preferably CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE
Join a stellar team
By bringing together some of the world’s brightest researchers and engineers, we are pushing the boundaries of marine transportation. We take great pride in building engagement within our teams. Our internal motto is “with a revolutionary spirit and kindness”, which translates into an open and honest work environment - we have a lot of fun while working hard to achieve our goals.
We are a 100-strong, multinational team of experts within dynamic modelling, hardware design, hydrodynamics, control theory, machine learning, structural engineering work and production to build the next generation of waterborne transport. This is a full-time position at our Headquarter at Frihamnen, Stockholm. Working language is English, if you also know Swedish it will be a benefit for yourself, but it is not a prerequisite for the role.
